Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
Oatmeal raisin cookies if not made right are like little bricks, you almost chip a tooth on them. These ones are so soft and chewy that you will want to make more of them! Typically I don’t really like raisins, I’m not sure why but I have never enjoyed them. These cookies though have changed my mind. I can sit and eat six of these cookies and not feel bad about it. I hope you enjoy these cookies and if you have a cookie recipe you’d like to share with me please do so! INGREDIENTS 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1…

Valentine’s Day Sugar Cookies
With Valentine’s Day on Friday, I thought I would surprise Kevin with some heart-shaped sugar cookies. However, it’s hard to surprise someone with baking when they live in the same house as you! These sugar cookies are super easy to make, and depending on the cookie cutter they can be used for multiple occasions. Here’s a tip on cookie cutters, I always find they are so expensive, and if you are only going to use them once a year I can’t justify spending a lot of money on them. What I do is after the holiday is over like Christmas or Valentine’s Day, the cookie cutter will be on sale,…

Morning Glory Muffins
This week seemed to be a struggle for me. I felt like I was always running late, even though I wasn’t, and I was having terrible sleep. Kiki seemed to need to go outside every 2 hours, which was awesome. Needless to say, I was not eating breakfast due to the fact that I felt like I was always running behind. I decided on Wednesday that I needed to make something that I could eat in the car on the drive to work. I made these Morning Glory Muffins and they were way better than I thought they would be! I normally don’t like a lot of things in my…

Imperial Cookies
When I was doing some Christmas baking I put out on my Instagram stories what recipes people would like to see. I had a friend, Celeste Christie, ask for Imperial Cookies, which I had never heard of these cookies before. There is a bakery in Winnipeg, High Tea Bakery, that is known for them, so I thought I would try to find their recipe or one close to it. Having never tried these cookies I tried to find a recipe from someone who either lived or currently lives in Winnipeg. Luckily I can across a couple and blended the two recopies together to come up with this one. If you…

Hummingbird Bread With Cream Cheese Icing
I don’t make hummingbird loaves or cakes very often, but every time I do I enjoy it! For some reason, I always think it can only be made for special occasions. Well, the special occasion is that the cold snap is over! Calgary had some pretty brutal temperatures (-35C), thankfully that has come to an end so I thought we should celebrate with a Hummingbird Loaf! The best part about this loaf, besides being incredibly moist, is the cream cheese icing with a touch of cinnamon on top! This makes it even more special. I hope everyone enjoys this recipe, and if you live in Calgary I hope you are…

♥ Magic Cookie Bar ♥
This recipe is one of Kevin’s favorites, he loves everything in it! He hates waiting for them to cool and sometimes starts to eat them out of the pan with a spoon. There are a couple of ways you can make this, either you can layer the ingredients or mix them together and place them on the base of graham crumbs, I prefer to mix them together but either way is totally fine. INGREDIENTS 1 cup butter, melted.3 cups graham cracker crumbs.1 can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk, (the one I used was 300 MLS). 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips.1 1/3 cups flaked coconut. 1 cup nuts, I used salted…

Cinnamon Rolls
This week I made some cinnamon rolls, which are delicious, but they took a very long time to make. The recipe called for quick rising yeast and all I had was regular yeast and so it took about 2 hours longer than it should have. I started making these at 10 AM and I wasn’t finished until 2 PM, so learn from my mistake and use fast-acting yeast, it will save you loads of time. This recipe is a little trickier than the other ones I have posted, I hope I have made the directions clear and easy, if not please let me know. Ingredients For Dough3/4 cup warm water2…
