The Only Banana Bread Recipe You’ll Ever Need

I’m not sure if it’s just me, but the bananas seem to be ripening faster than normal these days. I’m not sure if they are in transit longer than normal but it seems like within two days they are beyond ripe and I’m heading back to the grocery store to buy more bananas.

Needless to say, I have a freezer full of ripe bananas right now and was needing to do something with them.

This is the only banana bread recipe you will ever need. It is very easy and you can double it to make as many banana bread loaves as you need to use up those overripe bananas in your freezer.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

3 ripe bananas

1/3 cup melted butter

3/4 cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup walnuts (optional)

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350F. Line loaf pan with parchment paper and set aside.

In a small bowl whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt then set aside.

In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir in melted butter.

Stir in sugar, once it is combined add in the egg and vanilla.

Add in the flour mixture, and mix until combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50 minutes or until the tester inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let cool completely before removing the banana bread from the pan.
