The Best Southern Pecan Pie Recipe.
I spent a little time in Atlanta in the early 2000s and we went to this Farmers Market and they had some of the absolute best Pecan Pie I’d ever had, even to this day I would say it’s some of the best. If you’ve ever been to Atlanta or the Southern United States you know that they really do have the best pecan pie! I still think about this pecan pie often and have tried to recreate it many times. I think I have come pretty close to it with this recipe. The secret I find is in the corn syrup. For the longest time, I was only using…

It’s True, Blondies Do Have More Fun!
This recipe came along when I asked on Instagram stories what kind of recipes people wanted to see. My friend Nicole, who makes amazing bath bombs, asked for a blondie recipe. There were a lot of terrible blondie recipes that came out of this. Some were extremely dry that weren’t even worth eating, others that no matter how long I baked them came out raw in the middle and some were alright but not great. I couldn’t be happier with how this recipe turned out! They have great flavour, are not dry, and are not overly sweet which I was scared they would be with 3 cups of brown sugar…

My Favorite Blueberry Scone Recipe, and Soon to be Yours
It hasn’t been that long that have been making scones. To be honest I was terrified to make them. I always thought they would be a lot of work and that they wouldn’t turn out. To my surprise, they are one of the easiest things I have ever made! I love making scones and then having them for breakfast for the next couple of days or taking them to work for snacks to have to either get me through to lunch or in the afternoon when I’m starving. In this recipe, you could substitute the blueberries with any type of berry you would like and they would turn out great!…

The Only Carrot Cake Recipe You’ll Need This Fall
I can’t believe it is already officially Fall. I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks how is it already the end of September? There are only 13 more weeks until Christmas and 14 more weeks until 2021. With the weather turning colder and the leaves turning all the amazing autumn colours it is time to get into the Fall baking. This is the time of year when I tend to bake things that are more savoury. Where I make pumpkin pies, apple crisps, and of course carrot cake. Kevin’s birthday is the end of September, the 25th to be exact, and I always try to make him something…

The Only Banana Bread Recipe You’ll Ever Need
I’m not sure if it’s just me, but the bananas seem to be ripening faster than normal these days. Needless to say, I have a freezer full of ripe bananas right now and was needing to do something with them. This is the only banana bread recipe you will ever need. It is very easy and you can double it to make as many banana bread loaves as you need to use up those overripe bananas…

Blueberry Popsicle – Perfect Way to Beat the Summer Heat
I am loving the never-ending Summer here in Southern Alberta! The weather has been perfect this past week, so perfect we haven’t had to run the air conditioner in the house. This is my favourite time of year, the weather is perfect and the items that are in season right now are everything I love! The blueberries, peaches, blackberries, and rhubarb all make such fantastic desserts. A couple of weeks ago we were in BC and it was the peak of peach season, so of course, we bought a case of peaches. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it, we ate all the peaches before I could…

Easy and Delicious Kitchen Sink Cookies.
This weekend it has been hot here in Southern Alberta, and being fair-skinned I need to either wear a ton of sunscreen, stay in the shade, or in the house. I opted to stay in the house on Saturday and do something productive like clean out my pantry. I’m sure I”m not the only one that has 1/4 bags of peanuts, shredded coconut, raisins, and a hodgepodge of other items. I thought I would make these delicious Kitchen Sink Cookies to use up the leftover bags of items to help with the cleanup. This recipe is pretty forgiving, you can substitute any of the ingredients for whatever you have on…
